Marketing & Strategy Research Unit
Overview
The unit is a forum for the exchange of ideas and a focus for research activities in marketing and strategy. The shared MSRU research vision for the unit is Managing for the Future. The aims are to extend theory and to inform managerial practice through a range of projects spanning the following three main themes: socially responsible management, managing across borders and management practice. In addition there are three emerging sub-themes: managing customers, managing complexity, managing services. Unit members contribute to theoretical debates and managerial practice, disseminating research findings internationally through refereed journals and books, and by presenting work at international conferences and special interest group events. Research is particularly strong in the areas of international strategy, marketing strategy and targeting, social marketing and ethics, and managing customers/consumer behaviour. The unit's social marketing research is supported by a partnership with the Institute for Social Marketing in conjunction with the University of Stirling.
