Welcome to Research at The Open University Business School

Research is at the heart of The Open University Business School, underpinning all our activities from teaching to consultancy, advisory and policy work. Our mission is to undertake user-focused research that is intellectually leading and meets international standards of excellence. We pursue research that involves extensive engagement with professional practice in business and management and offers wider benefits to society. Our research leadership has enabled the School to pioneer new areas for management education such as managing creativity and knowledge.

Research activity in the School focuses on six Research Units and a high quality Research Degrees Programme. The School is also networked through participation in two collaborative Research Centres. Research across the School is linked by the high value placed on engagement with practice, and by cross-cutting inter-disciplinary research themes.
